Jill -

Tell the athletic department neanderthals what they can do with their
football games - and - save the $300.00 per game.

This stupid denial of funds for the arts is a real blood pressure raiser to
me. It goes back to my high school days in the early '40's in Peoria,
Illinois where the music programs were under the control of the athletic
program gurus. I forget exactly what the department was called, but as I
recall, the entire group's combined I.Q.'s wouldn't have been as high as
their combined hat sizes.

In my opinion, the value of Music and the Arts is so much greater than
sports programs in the long term education and lives of the students, that
the comparison is like Mt. McKinley (the Arts) compared to a pile of, well
you know what I mean, (sports).
