>Hi:

Your words and understanding of why we play pretty well fits my passion. I spent a lifetime as a military musician. However my last 10 years in the military were as a conductor. The clarinet kept calling me. I retired 10 years ago I retired and I almost stopped playing venturning into another area. When I moved out here to the Canadian West somehow I felt the need (a calling if you will) to play again, to sense the thrill of being in the center of musical performance. Now I play in a community band, a dixieland band and a trio Clar,Flute, piano. If you are off your rocker so are we all!!!!. One thing I have found is that people who have not played in years have longed for the joy of playing again. Whether it is for your own amazement or for the benefit of others it is an awakening in our soul.

Thats my perspective.
