I agree. I like oboe players. I did, after all, get married to one (a
common indicia of affection). There is a downside, though--aside from
the bad reed complex, you end up with little strings tied to most every
door knob, table leg etc. in your house from when the students come over
for a reed party. (Was my wife born to teach oboe, or what?)
We refer to them as "oboe droppings."

it's probably because we sit between the flutes, which tend sharp, and
the
clarinets, who can tend flat
it's enough to make anyone seasick!
