Subj: Vancouver Wind Trio opening/tour

After thirteen years (!!!) with the Vancouver Wind Trio I am retiring to
Newfoundland, so we are looking for someone to replace me. This "someone"
must be willing to relocate to Vancouver, BC (one of the most beautiful
cities in the world); the job involves a lot of travel, a mixture of
evening concerts (adult/family audiences) and school/kids' shows, and a
fair bit of speaking from the stage. You also have to be able to play a
two-hour show with only one quarter-rest. (Just kidding - actually several
of our arrangements have entire bars of rests! :-) I've made a good living
with this group since 1985 and had all kinds of amazing experiences (Dan,
you're not the only who's played the basset horn in El Centro, California!
In fact I was sure _I_ was the only one until I read your story!) For more
details email me off-list - we need to find to someone fairly soon in order
to get things rolling for next season. There are also a few people on the
list who have seen the show and might be able to provide an outside
perspective...

Meanwhile I'm doing one last tour with the group, this time in the eastern
and southern US: Maine (April 13), New Hampshire, North Carolina, Arkansas,
Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware (May 8). (yes there are a few leaps
there...) If you're interested in coming to see the show drop me a line,
I'll let you know the exact locations and dates. And if you're thinking you
might want to join the group and we're passing through your area it might
be possible to meet on one of our driving days/ days off (of which there
are several). We are driving from New Hampshire to North Carolina, after
all - I think there are some populated areas in between!,

Happy Easter and hope to meet some of you,

Lorne Buick
