I would suggest trying different mouthpieces with the clarinet. I have seen
dramatically different results because of "mismatched" mouthpieces. The same
clarinet might play flat overall with one mouthpiece, sharp with another
(undoubtedly a student model mouthpiece!), and well in tune with a third
mouthpiece.
