Ken,

It is very possible that you have a C clarinet! This reminds me of my
garage sale experience about 12 years ago. I stopped at a garage sale (I
love 'em!) and spied a clarinet case. I opened it up, and inside was a
beautiful Leblanc, wood clarinet - silver keys, mint condition instrument
and case........the mouthpiece was still wrapped in plastic!

I asked the guy what he was selling it for, and he said that he had been
given it by his brother in law for his girl - who had started band the
year prior. He said that she took it to school, but that it was so out of
tune, that the band director said to go to the music store and rent to
own. Of course, he didn't know it, but he was the proud owner of a
Leblanc C clarinet.....and I got it for 50 bucks.

Maybe you are so lucky??
