My dad played with the Dayton Philharmonic nearly thirty years and
taught music in public schools and privately. He was (and still is)
interested in a great many technical things and has hobbies in
astronomy and photography (especially the technical side) and has had
other technical interests as well (i can't get him to use a computer
yet, though).

I, on the other hand, am a mechnical engineer by training and by
trade, and a lot of my (limited) spare time is spent playing clarinet
and in other music-related ventures. Wish i had more time for it,
but i'm neither young nor single, both of which seem to be useful in
making that kind of time.
