I have worked on many clarinets over the past year and a half; Quite a few had
a surprisingly nice tone. Even no-name instruments have delighted me. But
NOTHING compares to my R13 for overall quality of construction and tone. There
is a reason why Buffet R13s are the standard to which others are compared.

That said, your Strasser is certainly worth the cost of an overhaul so long as
there are no cracks in the wood. You could keep the Strasser as your backup
instrument. Or sell it and use the profit toward the R13 Bb that you desire.
