I feel your pain!!
I love playing more than just about anything, but some days (today) I
cannot MOTIVATE myself to do it. Although I take lessons at the college, I
don't have to jury(I'm not a major or a minor, not taking music classes),
so I don't have that pressure. I'm 27, so it's not mom and dad who want me
to play. There are none of the negative reasons which can cause a lack of
motivation. What I'm saying is this: I DECIDED to learn the clarinet
because I WANTED to, and I genuinely love to play, so why do I choose not
to sometimes?
This is a very appropriate topic, for both educators and students. I am
anxiously awaiting replies. (I hope I don't loose (sic) my patience)
