I think it could be that the small pad just above the first ring key (left
hand) is too close to its tone hole. You probably want a repair person to look
at the clarinet because the fixes, while simple, would require taking a couple
of keys off the instrument. First, you can adjust the cork bumpers between the
thumb key and the top half of the ring mechanism to raise the pad cup a
smidge. Or you could try a thinner (or smaller) pad in the offending pad cup.
I am no expert in clarinet repair; in fact, I'm just a novice. But I think
this has happened to me in the recent past, and that tiny pad was the culprit.
