Just out of curiosity, does that repeated strain of the second variation, (K to L
in McCathren's version -- the multitude of sixteenth notes in 4/4) hold true to
Weber's original? I hadn't seen it in the two other editions I own, nor did I
notice it on a recording by Emma Johnson (though I will listen again). Still, a
couple people here had made reference to it, so I'm wondering what the original
work had.

Also, has McCathren done any other works for band and clarinet such as Concerto? I
will probably get to play another solo next year (as it is a yearly tradition with
our community band) and I'd be interested in seeing what else he's done.

Thanks for your help :)
