I've never played in Colorado (so this idea may not be helpful), but I
haven't noticed any suggestions to buy a box (or two) of reeds of your
usual strength *after* you get to Colorado and then adjust them to your
specific needs. Those reeds will have already been acclimated to the local
altitude and humidity. I suspect that part of the problem with transporting
your bought-in-Arizona or adjusted-in-Arizona reeds to the new environment
is that they will continue to change for several days after you arrive
until the fibers stabilize. (Of course, if you use hand-made reeds, you
might need to look for a local source of cane.)
