Jason Hsien asked about the Rhapsody "slur" from low G to high C.

I take it you mean the opener, right?

The way I did the opening lick last year (my band director asked me to
perform the first 8 measures of the lead clarinet part for our elementary
school tour!) was a combination of (I know Dr. Borchert will kill me for
this!) embouchure and finger sliding. Basically, I played a scale up to
the G, and then I did a slide up to the C using a loosened embouchure
(slightly loosened, to get that annoying flat sound!) and slowly pulling
my fingers off of the keys, starting with my right ring finger, middle,
and index. Of course, the easiest way to do it is to think that the gliss
is cake. Then, since you won't think it's hard to do, it won't be!

Good luck!

(Under construction always because I have NO TIME to do anything with it!)

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to
see it, do the other trees make fun of it?

If an elephant falls, which suffers more: the elephant or the ground?
