Dear Jimmy,
I am unsure exactly what your reeds will do but there are some things you
can do.
Keep your reeds in a stable environment as much as possible. I use an
airtight plastic container with a small piece of damp sponge, which is not
always necessary. The sponge is approx. 2cm/sq and should be only very, very
slightly damp. I also use salt water to dampen the sponge as this decreases
the growth of mould. There are reed boxes on the market but this is as good
as the ones that I have tried and much cheaper.
Last time I went to a drier environment (although not at altitude) my reeds
went softer. It may be a good idea to take a variety of reeds. Some that are
a little light for comfort, some that are too heavy as well as your
favourite reeds . This then covers all your bases.
I hope this is of some help.
