Majordomo stores all the names of the people subscribing to a list
or digest in a file. It seems like every few months a file gets
deleted somehow, and the system admins (_not_ the list admins!) don't
notice. For the life of me I can't figure out how that happens - I
check my system logs everyday, and it's not very hard to figure out
what got messed up (if anything). Jim, Cap - you need to find out
why your sys admins aren't noticing problems with majordomo.
