A friend of mine has noticed that you can see "condensation" (a.k.a. saliva)
bubbles in crystal mouthpieces. This may not be a concern to the clarinetist
him- or herself, but I suppose it could gross out some observers. Has anyone
else noticed this? (I've never seen nor used a crystal mouthpiece.)
