The Stoltzman recording with Emanuel Ax is quite good for picking
up some musical ideas. He seems to have a genuine feel for the
excitement and playfulness, as well as the heart-on-the-sleeve
spirit, of the three movements. And Emanuel Ax's performance
is excellent as well, which is no small beans given how challenging
the piano part is. Look for recordings where the "duo" aspect is
truly and convincingly evident. The one I've mentioned here is
one of them.
