After a lesson with David Shifrin once, I saw him disappear into Donald
Sinta's office for a few minutes. I heard some pretty amazing saxophone
playing, and when one of my friends came out of the studio, he was clearly
shaken. He told me that Shifrin had come in to ask a question, Sinta
pointed out a hard phrase for the student, and Shrifrin picked up the horn
and played it for him.....!

I don't know if the student was telling the truth, but it sure sounded
good!
