Dear Dan, I think the selections you were referring to that have no connection
to opera were probably the Weber Variations and the Rossini Variations, since
the others are all pretty obvious. The theme of the Weber Op 33 is from his
opera 'Sylvana', and the theme of the Rossini is from a tenor aria from 'La
Donna del Lago'(I think--either that or from 'Tancredi'---anybody know for
sure?), hence their inclusion on the recording. soprano/clarinetist
