But, we have to be careful about one of these things. Once I had occasion
to think that I was the best bassoon player in Paris. Paris, Tennessee,
that is. However, unknown to me at that time and probably to other people
who might have wanted to claim that distinction, Charlie Sirard, former
bassoonist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra had retired and moved to
Paris, which was the hometown of his wife. So then I decided that for a
few days, I was the best bassoonist in Paris, Tennessee who had never
played in the Detroit Symphony!

Yes, and many more tenuous claims than that one have been put on resumes.
