Subj: New E-11 has cracked!

A new (1-2 months) E-11 (Buffet) of a student of mine has cracked. It
is a small crack above the register key tone hole. I'm not sure whether
it is worth getting a new joint over. I am tempted to have it filled
and forget about it. It is a surface crack. The instrument plays very
well. We both like it. (That tone hole has a metal insert--will that
keep it from traveling through the tone hole?)
