I have a Series 9 - I like it. There is a tendency for the top of
the staff "e" and "f" to be somewhat flat (which I found from an
article on the Clarinet pages to be common to those instruments - the
article contains a concise explanation for the phenomonon, which I
won't even attempt to recreate here) but that is well within my
ability to lip up. If the instrument needs adjustment, that tendency
gets more pronounced and I may not be able to lip it up fully.
According to my teacher, the 9 is more popular among jazz players
(which I'm not) because its sound is "brighter" than the series 10
(or later) clarinets.
