I think I see a need here. (Composers who follow the list, please take
note. If it makes any difference, after my last pay, I have $1.38 for a
commission.) We have "Immer Kleiner" and "The Incredible Shrinking
Clarinet" which start with the full instrument and step-by-step remove
pieces, starting with the bell, until all that remains is the
mouthpiece. A piece that does the same thing in the opposite direction
would seem to fill an important void. (Write it for eefer and
Jacqueline can include it in her dissertation.)

Introduction - Full Clarinet
Theme - Take off the reed and ligature, invert
mouthpiece and play like flute
1st Variation - Remove mouthpiece. Play clarflute
2nd Variation - Remove barrell. Play like a trumpet. (Bass
clarinet alternative, play like didgeridoo --
requires circular breathing.)
3rd Variation - Remove upper joint. Play ???
4th Variation - For Bell alone. Play ??? (Maybe "Invert, fill
with water and run finger around rim?")

I'm not sure how the instrument should be played in the 3rd (and 4th)
variations. Preferably (IMO) in a different manner than before.
Perhaps the "Percussive Arts Society" can be of assistance (if they can
be found.)
