Okay, I can't do this alone: I mean relearn how to play the instrument so I
have some idea of what I'm doing. Also...maybe more importantly...my
girlfriend has an 11-year-old kid who is hugely gifted musically, has
picked up the rudiments of the clarinet AND piano in way under a year
(including theory)...but could definitely benefit from a teacher who knows
what's going on.

My SO and her son will be moving east around the beginning of May.

We are all likely to be in Northern New Jersey, where I am now. So does
anyone here know of a good private woodwind teacher in North Jersey who can
work with both new and returning players? If not, how might I find out and
separate the real deals from the charlatans?

Private replies are very much OK. Thanks.

"The East River. But it was not a river at all. Merely a column of water
connecting the upper harbor to the Sound. Yet everyone called it a river.
They chose not to think about it. They clung to the surface of things."
