CHAIRS CHAIRS CHAIRS

All this reminds me of the time we visited London, England and Ted
Planas, clarinetist and famous repairman, came to see us at the hotel.
In talking about this and that, he told me about the gigs they do in
London.

Sometimes there are maybe 4 or 5 clarinets on the job.
So-everyone is in a rush to get there early. Why?
Because they want to pick up the fourth or fifth clarinet parts.
The guy who comes late has to play the first part.
Usually its a recording job and there is no time to rehearse much.
No one wants to get stuck with playing the first part.
A little different from the story here. However, here we are talking
about a symphony set up.
I thought it might interest some of the hopefuls.
