Mark,

I saw this letter in "The Clarinet." I've been reading too many postings
because I didn't even notice spelling and grammatical errors. I agree that
it was totally inappropriate for someone to forward your message to the
magazine without your knowledge or approval (or, perhaps, for the editor to
have picked it up from the list). In your place I would also be ticked.
Perhaps you can take some comfort in the knowledge that the content was
good and, I believe, informative to all the members of the ICA who don't
follow the list and may result in some additional members with expertise to
share.

My biggest problem with the latest issue is that I didn't get the whole
thing. My issue is missing pp. 21-24 and (of course) at the other end
81-84.

By the way, I've been meaning to "write" for a couple of weeks now to thank
you for your responses to my messages about greasing the corks on the g#
and a keys. I'm afraid I have to admit I was trying to start a thread
similar to the infamous "float test" but, aside from Ed Lacy, no one
seemed to want to play. In part, this was probably because I accidently
hit on an obscure but real problem. I tried to leave clues from the
beginning (e.g., if you look at your thumb ring, I think you'll find it
held in place by a rod rather than pivot screws) but they may have been too
subtle. In any case, I appreciate your tip about using heat with
penetrating oil. I have NEVER been able to make it work on anything.

Warm regards,
Jack
