The Zinner blanks that Heinz Viotto uses to put my Kaspar facing on is a
new formulation from pre-World War 11 days. It uses a small amount of
mercury in it. These blanks definitely have a warm sound which avoids
excessive edge in the high register,even playing as loud as you like.
I don't know if they are available in the states yet.
