I was told about two bass clarinets for sale at about $400.00 each. I
have searched Sneezy and the web for any information about the brands
and have come up empty for bass clarinets.

Both are wood. One is supposed to have a Buffet logo and says something
like Carbart. The other is Pedler.

What I have come up with is that Cabart is or was a bassoon and oboe
maker and Pedler is responsible for some of the metal clarinets.

This is something that I wasn't even in the market for, but if it ends
up being a good deal, I would hate to pass it by. I play bass rarely
(sorry Shouryu), mainly in community theater if there is only one
clarinet book, so I am not looking to make a big investment. I know
that ultimately any particular instrument in any particular brand can be
a gem or a dog, but until I get the opportunity to try the instruments,
I am just trying to get some background on them.
