There is nothing wrong with neckstraps. They can be of excellent help
sometimes. When I have to play fast stuff (I mean really fast, 16ths at
176; yes, I'm in Robert Spring's studio) then I use a neckstrap. Or when
my right hand gets tired. It keeps me going for a little longer.

The majority of students in Robert Spring's studio uses neckstraps all
the time. So does Dr. Spring. And if you have heard Dr. Spring playing,
knowing that he uses a neckstrap, you would agree that there is
absolutely nothing wrong with them. If it can make you play more
comfortable, what's the problem?
