i use a neck strap, hoping (as i do) that it'll preserve my arthritic
thumb and wrist. i wear a thumb splint at the same time (and a wrist
splint on my left wrist), for the same reason.

some day one or the other hand will refuse to play for me any longer,
but until then ... i'll submit to looking a bit silly.
