Just as an item of information...falls in the category of useless facts
that probably nobody cares about...I will add...with a big smile! :-)

..."playing outside" in a jazz context is a term of art that refers to
using chords or scales that are dissonant to the harmony/progressions of
the tune. In order to obtain "tension" and "release" with a particular set
of changes, a player will move from "inside" [the progression as written]
to "outside" [something that definitely isn't the chord or scale called
for] to "inside" again [the "release"]

...so perhaps not to confuse those if us who "work/play" both types of
"classical" music [European and American!], maybe the caption for the
subject the original message addresses should be "Playing outDOORS." :-)
