Jason,

I have never heard of a "portable" baffle. That is, one that can be
inserted or replaced oin a mouthpiece. Go to SNEEZY and check out my
article on MOUTHPIECE NOMENCLATURE. This will give you a bit of information
about what the baffle is.

The baffle is an integral part of the design of the chamber.
Sometimes sax players put clay in their mouthpices to raise the baffle in
order to create more projection. Indescriminate addition of material in
such a small mouthpiece as a Bb clarinet can distort the sound, response
and pitch. If someone out there is trying to sell a commercial baffle they
are full of more than just clay.
