The soprano's (III) been out for over 3 years. Prototype is $7000 for the
Alto!!! There is a good Sax newsgroup (public) out there too.

BTW, these saxophones will be called Selmer Series III, not Super Action
80 Series 3. The soprano in this line has been out for about a year and a
half, and the tenor came out just a month ago. A couple of days ago, I
was talking with a representative of one of the large nation-wide mail
order music stores, who told me that the alto had been scheduled to be out
by now, but that it had been delayed. According to him, it will be late
this summer, or perhaps even early 1999 before the alto is available. If
your friend played one, he must have had access to one of the prototype
models.
