I heard the World Premiere of the Urban Requiem two years ago, increadable
piece. For the standing solo, try buying a 1/4 inch round and 24 inch long
steel rod from a "Home Depot" type store. I would replace the short peg
which comes with the bass clarinet, measure how long of a rod you need and
cut off the extra. You know have a standable bass clarinet. I also would
use a strap to keep the horn steady.
