Metal mouthpieces in general produce a brighter sound, but material is only
part of it. I like the Otto Link, which, since it does NOT have a high
baffle, is less extreme than some of the others. I use it when playing
lead alto for big band music, but I stick to a Selmer C* (old one with an
arch-shaped chamber) for concert band. Different reed setups for each, of
course.
