Klarinet Archive - Posting 000454.txt from 1998/03

From: "Dan Leeson: LEESON@-----.edu>
Subj: A request from Eddie Brunner

Brunner, who was formerly first clarinet with the Munich Phil and who
is now professor of clarinet at the Hochschule fur Musik in Munich
played a concert with Bob Levin at which he asked if Bob knew anything
about where he might obtain a set of orchestral parts for the concerti
of Lefevre (sometimes spelled "Lefebvre").

I saw Bob in Amarillo and he dumped this one on me. Since I didn't even
know that Lefevre wrote a concerto (or maybe even more than one), I told
Bob that I would pass the request on to KLARINET where somewhere there
will be someone who does know. (I think that we have enough specialists
on this list so that if you wanted a real expert on the placement of
post 3, screw 2 for a left hand basset horn with a .91 mm cascasding
bore, three people would say, "I know how to do that!")

So, OK already. For all of you who said, "Feh!" to a discussion of
marching bands, now is the time to put on you Lefevre hat and tell
me where a set of orchestral parts may be found. Then I'll tell
Levin, he'll tell Brunner, and you shall see a recording of the work
in about 2 years.

By the way, I do need some help on post 3, screw 2 for a left handed
basset horn ...
