Subj: Woodshed material for clarinet/tenor sax doubler
Date: Sat, 7 Mar 1998 10:01:27 -0500

This is a question for all you veteran doublers out there.
I'm looking for good woodshed materials for legit tenor sax.
My daily clarinet routine includes Baermann III, Opperman,
Cavallini, Perier, etc., but saxophone is a sometime thing.
When there's work on the horizon it gets daily attention
along the lines of memorized scales and arpeggios and a
few jazz licks from the Parker Omnibook, but nothing
comparable to the stuff I do on clarinet. Before I go down
to the local sheet music shop with cash in hand, I'd like
some recommendations from players who know the books that
are currently available. The key factor is the on-again
off-again nature of my tenor playing and the kind of
periodic skill refreshment that requires.
