To figure this out, send the messages (separately)

who klarinet

and

who klarinet-digest

to majordomo@-----.us

You'll get the e-mail addresses of the subscribers (and if _any_
bulk mailing spam weasels ever do that and start using our list
addresses they'll make me unleash my arsenal of anti-spam weapons
on them - and it won't be a pretty sight!)

E-mail addresses many times indicate country of origin or at least
enough information to help in the determination of country. If the
last piece says, for instance, .es, we know it's Spain (Espana).
There's a list of official e-mail country codes available.

Addresses that end with .edu are educational institutions. Sometimes
I have to try a command called "whois" on Unix to figure out what is.
For instance, Roger Garrett's address ends in iwu.edu, and doing a
"whois" on that brings back
Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU-DOM) IWU.EDU
Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU-HST) IWU.EDU 198.178.132.1

Addresses like aol.com or compuserve.com or netcom.com have no
information embedded (other than that someone's probably overpaying
for an advertising service :^) that allows you to figure out where
the mail originated.

Probably longer and more involved than you cared to know.

Cheers,
