Out of response to a few of the comments I've seen tonight:

I play a Greenline. I made the switch from a plastic Vito (not that you
can find a Vito made of wood...). There was indeed a notable difference
in weight.

However, whenever I have had the rare priviledge of playing my professor's
plain ol' R13 (gee, make his stick sound inferior, why dontcha, Shour?), I
also noted a weight difference. But in switching off between his R13 and
my R13 (now that I have one), I feel no difference really...not a
noticable one. I mean, his is wood, mine's recycled wood - so I don't
really see why there SHOULD be.

I have done the same thing with my roommate's eleven year old R13, and I
noticed no discrepancy in weight. Maybe he did when he played my horn.

Josh, my licorice stick feel heavier than yours?
