The suggestions for sterilizing the reeds and for keeping food and moisture
away are good ones. But remember that mould is biological (usually a
fungus) and an inoculum is needed. If your student has the problem and you
don't (yet) maybe the student should try disinfecting everything in sight,
starting with the reeds but including the reed holder , mouthpiece and
ligature - anything that comes in contact with the reeds.
