hearing you speak at UTEP - you wouldn't believe what you did to my
head...

The very next day, we had the regional Solo and Ensemble Festival for
High Schoolers. Dr. Borchert was judging the clarinets, and to gain
wisdom, insight, tidbits of knowledge on judging, and major brownie
points, I sat in with him.

In the afternoon, a student performed the first movement of the Mozart.
(sans cadenza) The first words from my lips were: "Why didn't she
improvise???"
