Well, here are your answers. I had to practice very often (sometimes 5 hours a
day) and it improved my embosure emensly. My sound improved dramatically
becasue of the technique needed to keep all things in line to march and play
at the same time, this had nothing to do with the trophy although it did
improve my self-confidence with a solo. My tone improved greatly and I was a
better mucisan becasue of this experience. No, I have never tried those, but I
have been working my way there. I do practice rapid tounging VERY freqently,
in fact my private teacher makes it a point. I take it as fast as I feel I can
to make it still musical, about 110 or 112. Thanx for responing.
