Robert,
You are to be commended for your loyalty and support. If the
student board works, you will have something to be proud far into the
future.
What kind of responsibilities will the board have? Having
specific responsibilities related to the group and board would be
absolutely necessary.
Is there a conductor? and what will his/her role be? I was a
public school band director before going back to graduate school and had a
student board (President, V.P. etc.) but, ultimately, I was still in
charge of the program. After all, it was my job. Your conductor would
likely want similar control.
