aiui, it's one of those inscrutable things like american foopball,
hamburgers in cotton wool buns, and "cheer leaders", which are
absolutely vital but designed to be completely incomprehensible to the
furriner such as you or me.

i think the best thing is to try and ignore them. after all, there
were only 19 messages about them this morning when i logged in as
opposed to 56 yesterday, so perhaps the trend is downwards at last ;-)
