Mouthpieces are a very personal thing, of course, but they can make
quite a difference, as we all know. I have tried many different alto
clarinet mouthpieces and in my limited experience nothing comes close to
the one made by Clark Fobes. Of the commercially available ones I would
suggest the Hite. I have also found the same to be true of Clark's
bass clarinet mouthpieces. I have used a Morgan and a Bay, but they
are in the drawer now.
