I would like to restate a solution someone else already
mentioned -- placing a piece of damp sponge in the
mouthpiece cap to keep the reed moist. This method works
well, although you have to be careful not to waterlog the
reed (for this purpose, make sure the sponge is thin enough
that it does not actually contact the reed). I would
definetely recommend using this method instead of soaking
reeds in water (this will waterlog reeds quickly).
