Right now I'm playing West Side Story which requires Eb, Bb and Bass with
very little time to change horns---no time to put mouthpiece caps on and
take off. I keep a cup of water under my chair and dip the mouthpiece,
reed and all, in when it gets dry. Usually I can do it although in once
place I have only 1 bar, at a fast tempo, to change.
