Well, there's always the sythetic reed option. They don't require water,
but tone quality diminishes anywhere to some to bunches depending on
brand. I prefer Fibrecells over Baris and Plasticovers. They have a good
tone and strong projection.

Another option (that I prefer) is to keep a glass of water by your chair.
During the occasional 4 bar rest or extended rests, use your finger to
dabble a couple drops on each reed. Since I'm picky on intonation, I'm
likely to do this first, to save myself from using the synths.
