Subj: register key

i have a question regarding the register key. when i play a Bb using
this key it is considerably flat and difficult to produce though the A
sounds fine. my question is this, the key seems to rest slightly to
the left of the hole it covers so i was wondering if this might be the
culprit? and also if this is true of the register key, if its out of
alignment, could this effect the register above Bb? i have
intermittent problems throughout this register as well. for instance B
natural and C are quite flat and high B with the 2 index fingers
fingering is almost impossible to produce cleanly. i understand there
might be a multitude of problems here. im just at a loss as to where to
start looking, i.e. is it my technique or the clarinet? its a 1950's Q
series selmer centered tone and ive just had it repadded and
overhauled. any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

david
