Subj: Another barrel question

The other night on a NY PBS station, they were running a tribute to Benny
Goodman. One of the soloists was Stoltzman. As one might expect, superb.
I didn't have my magnifying glass so couldn't make out the logo on the
instrument:-). What I DID notice was the barrel of the clarinet didn't
match the rest of the instrument: it was a dark red hue rather than black.
A "third party" barrel, and if so, what kind might it have been?

"The East River. But it was not a river at all. Merely a column of water
connecting the upper harbor to the Sound. Yet everyone called it a river.
They chose not to think about it. They clung to the surface of things."
